Hospital Storytelling
I've been working with the Read for Good Charity (www.readforgood.org) since January 2013. I go into six children's hospitals once every half term in Nottingham, Leeds, Norwich, Manchester, Hull and Sheffield to tell stories and sing songs to young inpatients. The charity also provides brand new books for the children to borrow or in some cases keep.

Most recently I was interviewed in Norfolk and Norwich Jenny Lind Children's Hospital storytelling and chatting about story writing for BBC News Look East, in a feature celebrating the launch of the BBC 500 words children's story writing competition.

I go round as many of the wards as I can. I have a little time to meet, greet, tell a story, make a story, sing a song or play the guitar and reach a child. I am to make an impact and create benefits that are simply have have fun, laugh, play, create and participate in story telling or story making that will sustain once I've moved on. I tell each story with the hope it's a little healing gift of kindness with lots of opportunity for engagement in the hope of providing an imaginative escape to adventure, fun and magical worlds.
